Privacy Policy
Last updated October 19, 2026
wakethefup ("we") is operated by Alex Beaudreault. This policy explains what the app collects and why. We sell to people in the United States and Thailand.
What stays on your phone
Your alarms, streak history, settings, body tracker (weight, meals and progress photos), and everything the camera, microphone and motion sensors see during the wake up tasks. The wake up video is checked on the phone and is never uploaded. If you choose to film your wake up, the video is saved to your Photos, not to our servers.
What we collect, only if you use these features
- An anonymous account identifier, created when you open the app. There is no password.
- Purchase history, handled by Apple. We receive subscription status.
- Friends and Circle: your profile (name, handle, bio, city, links), posts, photos, short videos, stories, comments, likes and reports you make.
- Live calls and wake up calls: audio and video are streamed in real time through our provider LiveKit. Calls are not recorded by us. For a booked wake up call we hold the name, phone number and script of the person to be called, and erase the number 30 days after the call.
- Location: only when you check in at a meetup, and a city you choose to show. Other members see only your city.
- Streak numbers and whether you were up, if you choose to share them with friends or on leaderboards.
- Creator payout details, only if you apply to be a creator. They are handled by the payout provider.
What we do not do
No advertising, no tracking across other apps or sites, no sale of personal data, and no analytics or advertising software in the app. Crash and diagnostic information stays in a log on your phone unless you tap Share Diagnostics.
Who processes data for us
Supabase (database and file storage, United States), LiveKit (live calls), and Apple (purchases, notifications). They may only use data to provide their service to us.
Keeping and deleting data
You can delete your account in the app at any time (Settings, Delete my account). We then remove your account, profile, posts, photos, friends and streak from our servers. Records of payments we are required by law to keep are retained without your profile details. Reported content may be kept for safety review for up to 90 days.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your data by emailing support@wakethefup.app. Residents of California and other US states, and people in Thailand under the Personal Data Protection Act, have the rights those laws give. We do not discriminate against anyone who uses these rights.
Children
The app is not for children under 13. The Circle is for adults only, and members confirm they are 18 or older.
Safety
Data is encrypted in transit and stored with access rules that let each person reach only what they should. No system is perfectly secure, and the alarm should not be your only safety device.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes we will update the date above and tell you in the app for material changes. Contact: support@wakethefup.app.
